The Parable of the Sower

Matthew 13:3-8

“And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.”

What is the Seed?

The Word of God.

Luke 8:11

“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.”

He that sows the seed is the Son of Man

Matthew 13:37

“He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;”

What do the thorns represent?

The World.

Matthew 13:22

“He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.”

**A tree needs water to survive. If a tree was planted near a river where the roots would get its water daily, it will survive. Jesus wants us to plant ourselves in him, like a tree by the river banks to live. **

John 15:1-5

“1I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. 3Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. 4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

True Believers will be hated for His name’s sake!

John 15:18-20

“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. 19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. 20Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept y saying, they will keep yours also.”

Through Jesus we are saved and reconciled with Him from the World!

Colossians 1:21

“And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled.”

John 15:16

“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.”

Things that Provoke God

Study by: Pastor Rolando Ramos

There are 6 things God hates:

Proverbs 6:17-19

“These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”

When a person exercises the practice of the works of the flesh they devise their own evil

Psalm 36:4

“He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.”

Psalm 81:12

“So I gave them up into their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.”

You know better, in that which you do is not expectable with God

Romans 1:21

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were they thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”

*The Lord is always watching to keep you from falling. If we read about Cain and Abel in Genesis 4:6-7, we could understand that satan will find a way to divert you from trusting in the Lord. *

Genesis 4:6-7

“And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? And why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.”

Proverbs 1:24

“Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;”

He that has called you is Holy

1 Peter 1:13-16

“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

Curse words, or words of evil, or worldly lustful speaking put away from you

Ephesians 4:29

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

A person that ignores instruction loves death. Be obedient unto the word of God, and you will be filled with joy

Proverbs 8:33-36

“Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.”

If you have hatred towards anyone how can you say that you love God whom you have never seen?

1 John 4:20

“If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”

There are two most important commandments Jesus Christ mentioned in the Bible

Matthew 22:38-40

“Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

*Keep the Lord thy God pleased with your life and you will have a peaceable and joyous life with Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Be Blessed!!!
